Combinant des références à l’Histoire et à la culture populaire, l’installation “Mind and Senses Purified” est intitulée d’après le refrain de la célèbre chanson de clubbing “Freed from desire” de la chanteuse Gala. Léo Fourdrinier a mis en place des gradins qui permettent au visiteur de s’asseoir face au port de plaisance: à droite, un point de vue inédit s’ouvre sur la mer, tandis que la ville se dévoile sur la gauche. Les gradins sont ornés de l’inscription « Mind And Senses Purified », représentée en lettres lumineuses. La phrase qu’on pourrait traduire littéralement par « Esprit et sens purifiés » s’interprète à ce point précis de rencontre entre la ville et la mer. D’après la chanteuse: « « Freed from desire » est une prière. À l’époque, je voulais changer le monde, rassembler tout le monde autour d’un seul but. Je voulais réunir tout le monde autour d’une chanson pour expliquer que l’essence originelle du mal, c’est l’avarice. Cette chanson est une invitation à suivre ses rêves sans jamais perdre de temps sur les possessions matérielles. »

Combining references to history and popular culture, the installation « Mind and Senses Purified » is names after the chorus of the famous dance music song, Freed From Desire, by singer Gala. The artist has installed bleachers, allowing visitors to sit facing the marina: to the right, a unique view opens onto the sea, while the city appears on the left. The bleachers are adorned with the inscription « Mind And Senses Purified », in luminous letters. The sentence, which can literally be translated in French as « Purified spirit and senses » is interpreted at this precise meeting point between city and sea. According to the singer, « « Freed from desire » is a prayer. At the time, I wanted to change the world, bring everyone together around a single goal. I wanted to unit everyone around a song to explain that the root of evil is greed. This song is an invitation to follow your dreams without ever wasting time on material possessions. »
